“Jim Dale is coming to the end of his policing career with Sussex.  He remains very proactive in seeking to support and influence the strategic development of the Service.  It was his passion for policing and his obvious talent in facilitating organisational change that brought him to my notice in my current role, working for ACPO to help forces consider post merger options for the protective services.

 

Jim is a very natural organisational change champion.  He is never satisfied with the status quo and he is always looking for continuous improvement.  He has programme management skills and an insatiable appetite for work.  He has a very facilitative style which means he is able to influence individuals and teams to consider new ideas.  His ability to analyse complex material and to connect it with other strategic issues is extraordinary.  He has often provided analysis, or a comparative assessment,  of collaboration models.  His analysis and judgement are always sound.  Furthermore, Jim has turned things around for me in a timetable that I had no right to expect, working in the evenings and at weekends to support my work.  “
